Ted Lasso Star Hannah Waddingham Heading To Tom Jones Remake For Masterpiece

Image
In what feels like a deeply British series of events, " Ted Lasso " actress Hannah Waddingham has officially joined the cast of "Tom Jones." That's right, your favorite fictional feisty football owner has set her eyes on the miniseries based on the classic British novel, which has nothing to do with the Welsh singer Tom Jones, even if the title does trigger "It's Not Unusual" to start blaring in your head.  It's best to get all the Tom Jones straightened out in your head now, otherwise, the singer's hits will be stuck in your head for the entirety of this story, and it will be no one's fault but your own. The series, which is being produced by ITV, Mammoth Screen, and good old Masterpiece (the PBS variety), is based on the 1749 novel "The History of Tom Jones, A Foundling" by Henry Fielding. The original story follows the aforementioned Tom Jones, who is raised away from his parents by a wealthy family on a country estate a

Batman Movies Ranked From Worst To Best

Image
Batman is one of the oldest superheroes depicted in the media, having first appeared in the pages of "Detective Comics" in 1939. Along with Superman and Wonder Woman, he's considered part of DC Comics' "Holy Trinity"; really, there's no bigger superhero in pop culture. While the character started out as a comic book character, he's made his way into live-action a number of times. Two low-budget serials screened in the '40s, while ABC's campy "Batman" series followed in 1966. The show ran for only three seasons, but was widely popular on its debut, and developed a cult following thanks to standout performances like Cesar Romero as the Joker and Yvonne Craig as Batgirl.  Batman quickly became a Saturday morning cartoon staple, but outside of the comics, he's still best known as a movie star. Adam West played the Caped Crusader in the first live-action "Batman" film, and a revolving door of actors have played Bruce Wayn

Sexy Beasts Season 2 Trailer: Abandon All Hope, Ye Who Watch This Nightmare Fuel

Image
Whoever lit the black flame candle, played with a Ouija board, or angered an old witch to hex us all with a second season of " Sexy Beasts, " show yourself now or accept that my current greatest desire is to go full Liam Neeson in "Taken" and track you down. Netflix released the trailer today for the second season of their "Love is Blind" meets "The Masked Singer" dating show and all of us are now haunted by it. When the show debuted back in July, people went bananas over what looked to be their new favorite source of trash therapy. The premise is simple: it's a dating show where the contestants wear prosthetic masks and are transformed into monsters, animals, and whatever other weird creature the makeup artists have in store for the lucky suitors. Anyway, here's the trailer. It's hella cursed. You've been warned. Sexy Beasts Season 2 Trailer The trailer absolutely leans into the feedback of the first season, noting reviews

The 10 Scariest Scenes From The Alien Franchise

Image
Ridley Scott's "Alien" is a profound, seminal piece of science fiction and horror. In space, no one can truly hear you scream (per the first movie's official tagline), though just because it's unheard, it doesn't mean it's not there. With a profound scope, unmatched awe, gorgeous visuals, and bonafide body horror, the series is operatic, high-concept horror -- basically, a haunted house series set in space . With talented directors at the helm, the Alien series offers visions of a horrific future that are as diverse as they are terrifying, which makes the wait for any semblance of another mainline entry all the more difficult. Here, I review the 10 scariest scenes in the entire Alien franchise (including, yes, "Prometheus"). The scares extend far beyond the blackness of night into the infinite vastness of space, and while reducing a series known for gooey, Geiger-esque terror to just 10 scenes is difficult, the following sequences are simply t
