Must See Trailer for Poetic Film 'The Summer Book' with Glenn Close
"I'm trying..." "I won't be here forever." Music Box Films has revealed an official US trailer for the lovely, must see film titled The Summer Book, directed by filmmaker Charlie McDowell (of The One I Love, The Discovery, Windfall). This premiered at various festivals last year including London, AFI Fest, Stockholm, Camerimage, and many others. This peaceful and poetic film is set on wonderful little island in Scandinavia. It is the inspirational tale of a young girl and her grandmother spending a summer on a small, uninhabited island in the Gulf of Finland. Her father is struggling with the death of his wife while his daughter's curiosity grows. Adapted from Tove Jansson's beloved novel, The Summer Book is a delicate account of growing up and growing old, beautifully filmed on 16mm in majestic natural light. This fantastic little film stars Glenn Close as Grandmother, Anders Danielsen Lie as Father, and the delightful Emily Matthews as Sophia, with Ingvar Sigurdsson as Eriksson. This is such a special film, and I am very happy to be quoted in this trailer from a glowing review I wrote last year. I've been recommending it to everyone... Catch it in theaters. // Continue Reading ›
